One iota achieves Facebook first with Preferred Marketing Developer status

Posted: Thursday 19th April 2012

North West-based One iota, the experts in social and mobile retail technology, has been accepted onto the newly established Facebook® Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD) Program – the first UK technology company north of London to be included on the list.

The Facebook PMD Program recognises companies that have developed technologies in one or more areas of specialism. It aims to enable brands to connect with solution providers who can best help them build comprehensive applications which are socially enabled on the Facebook Platform.

Founded in January 2010, One iota allows retailers and brands to harness the power of social and mobile commerce via its patent-pending technology platform MESH. The company's technology provides fully integrated and transactional commerce solutions that utilise social recommendations and personalisation on Facebook.

Damian Hanson, CEO and co-founder of One iota, said: "As the first company north of London to be included on the list, we're delighted to have been accepted as a Facebook PMD.

We firmly believe that Facebook is set to revolutionise eCommerce. Therefore, it's essential that brands and retailers embrace Facebook to complement their multi-channel strategies, both online and in-store. This will support customer engagement and drive new revenue growth. With our official PMD status, we hope to continue to lead innovation in this sector, while forging ahead with new technologies on our MESH platform."

One iota's qualification as a Facebook PMD means it now joins a list of just 232 preferred marketing developers globally, including high-profile organisations, such as Adobe, Buddy Media and Razorfish.

This latest development comes hot-on-the-heels of the launch of One iota's Facebook deals platform, DealsJoy™. The free, self-service deals tool enables businesses of any size to capitalise on the growing demand for special offers and daily deals, while keeping 100 per cent of the revenue generated.
