One iota launches "DealsJoy" as self-service deals tool on the Facebook Platform
North West-based business One iota, is aiming to take on the likes of Groupon and other group buying services, following the launch of DealsJoy – a free platform that enables businesses of any size to capitalise on the growing demand for special offers and daily deals.
DealsJoy, which is the brainchild of retail technology business One iota, is a free, self-service product that can be embedded onto the Facebook® Business Page of any company. It has been created to give businesses a better deal by retaining complete control over the deals they want to offer their "Fans", while keeping 100 per cent of the revenue generated.
Consumer appetite for special offers and local daily deals has exploded over the past year and many businesses have jumped onboard, providing group buying deals and offers through platforms, such as Groupon, Living Social and KGB Deals.
Deals sites have become hugely popular, but increasingly, customers and businesses alike are tiring with their nature. Consumers often receive generic, non-personalised deals, while businesses have struggled to make deals profitable and on occasion even fulfil demand.
In contrast, DealsJoy enables businesses to launch special offers and daily deals with control over timings, order volumes and redemption criteria, to carefully manage customer expectations. Over 100 businesses have signed up for the service in its first week.
Damian Hanson, CEO and co-founder of One iota, commented: "We know that shoppers are hungry for money-saving deals, while businesses are looking at ways of driving customers in-store and generating revenue from their Facebook Fans. DealsJoy can support this demand. It gives business owners a free tool to promote and manage deals through Facebook, while keeping all of the revenue generated. We hope this will give businesses in the UK and beyond a much needed boost in the current economic environment."
Once customers have claimed their deal, they are encouraged to share this with their friends to virally increase brand awareness. All deal claimants are then sent an email with a unique deal code, which must be redeemed in-store, helping to drive local footfall. Deal redemption is automated online or through a mobile device by the business owner to ensure complete visibility of the customer.
