One iota creates a buzz with national award nomination
One iota – the mobile and social commerce provider – has been shortlisted for a prestigious Social Buzz Award.
The Social Buzz Awards celebrate the best in social media by recognising clients, individuals and agencies that are transforming technology in order to engage customers in new and innovative ways.
One iota – which specialises in creating fully-transactional, optimised mobile and Facebook solutions – has been nominated in the ‘Best use of location-based services’ category for its campaign launch with major high-street retailer Republic.
The Rossendale-based company worked with Republic to implement and manage a Facebook Deals service in April 2011. The deals service gave shoppers access to exclusive offers and promotions, which were activated when users ‘checked-in’ to five flagship Republic stores via Facebook on their mobile phone.
Since it was launched, the service has been rolled out nationally to all of Republic’s leading stores. It has also increased Facebook Fans by 16 per cent.
Damian Hanson, co-founder and CEO at One iota, said: "At a time when many brands are struggling to connect with the social media generation, we were able to help Republic set itself apart and connect with its customers in a new and innovative way. We’re thrilled that our knowledge of the Facebook platform has enabled Republic to open up a completely new revenue stream."
