Discount clothing retailer, Brown Bag, chooses One iota for next gen mobile apps

One iota is very pleased to have been selected by discount menswear retailer, Brown Bag, part of the Clothing Sites group, to create their next generation native iOS and Android consumer mobile apps. Brown Bag sought a partner that can build an app that reflects their brand values and help them to utilise behavioural data to achieve their goals. Recognising that consumers are routinely turning to apps for their browsing and shopping, Brown Bag has targeted the mobile app as a key channel to better engage existing customers as well as in attracting new customers in their next phase of growth.

The rapid pace of stock turnaround in the discount clothing sector means that Brown Bag needs a partner that not only has extensive experience of designing, developing and delivering mobile apps with data driven personalised customer communications, but also understands - and can be reactive to - the fluid nature of the market that they are working in. With their growing portfolio of digital projects created for fashion and sportswear retailers, One iota was the stand out choice as their app commerce partner, and they have now been tasked with creating a mobile app experience that mirrors and maintains the established level of trust, customer retention and brand loyalty, whilst improving engagement and new customer sales.

David Foster, Managing Director at Brown Bag said:

“The Brown Bag team and I are excited to partner with app commerce experts, One iota. Their vast knowledge of digital retail and technical expertise, coupled with their straightforward attitude, make them an ideal fit. The new native mobile app will be a pivotal part of our strategy as we seek to strengthen our foothold in the discount menswear market”.

Brown Bag has an existing Magento2 ecommerce integration, which enabled us to put forward timelines and costs which made it a straightforward decision to choose them to build the next generation of iOS and Android native mobile apps. From browsing, search, discovery and purchase, to after sales, the new app will guide and support the user throughout the whole customer journey. Importantly, it will also optimise the use of dynamic content and enhance the personalisation of the shopping journey for each user.  Set to launch in Autumn 2021, the new mobile apps will replace Brown Bag’s existing mobile apps.

Chris Brooks, CEO at One iota added:

“Working with Brown Bag is a fantastic opportunity for One iota and we are delighted to have been selected as their partner in building their next generation native app, which is a crucial element of their business growth. We shall endeavour to share our expertise and insights in digital shopping experiences and improve the app by utilising behavioural data to enhance and personalise the customer journey”.

Brown Bag’s next generation native app will be available to download in both the App Store and IOS in Autumn 2021.
